| This LJ has gotten stale and empty, so instead of writing news and boring stuff no one cares about, im going to do something else noone cares about, and post a new self portrait everyday, for as long as i can keep it up! Some are old, some are new, some took time, others were done in seconds and i think they are either SO BAD they rock, or are so simple they rock, either way, they;ll end up here. But, since i draw at LEAST 1 a day, this should be SUPER easy for me, and at least im not doing it for nothing anymore! Starting today of course, because thats the best day to start ANYTHING! so here goes! 1

| WHICH MEANS I'M GONNA SEE RADIOHEAD FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER TODAY!! I'm trying to prepare myself to be able to deal with peaking so early in my life...but all i can think about is what an amazing show its gonna be! If i feel i am too good to talk to any of you on the 5th i'm sure you will all know why...because i AM!
RAY DEE OH HEAD! the best 4 words in the english language, and they are gonna be playing LIVE in front of ME...the luckiest man to have ever walked the earth!
Feel free to worship me, I'm not above accepting your praise and gifts.
See you after my profound religious experience, America. OH...and: I've also been doing a lot of thinking about my freelance career lately and the opportunities that are arising and what they might mean...i may be making either some REALLY stupid decisions in the upcoming weeks, or some really SMART ones...but either way i'm riding the fence right now and im pretty nervous about it. BUT FUCK ALL THAT TODAY, I'M GONNA SEE RADIOHEAD! I'll let you know if its possible to get a music boner! I bet it is!

| I'm too tired and too lazy to write something interesting so i bring you the equivalent of a clip show of my life since my last update! If you don't like clip shows, recaps, or me, then go shove your hostility up inside and enjoy your "what not to wear" marathons you snobs!
Previously on Eric:
I was going to post something after new years, with a ton of pictures that i've taken over the year just to clear the old hard drive and to get use out of some of them. I might do that down the line randomly, but i doubt it..considering i haven't even posted in this thing without pictures in 2 months...
January was pretty slow, not much happened then, got sick on new years but not from partying, just from being lame i guess, and the rest of the month played out pretty ok...
February 14th i started a new job at the Exchange in Monroeville, which i really like. Everybody there is pretty dope and i get to talk about dvds all day, which i enjoy. The hermit-ness of being an artist caught up to me tenfold lately and i also needed some extra cash so it was a win win that they FINALLY got back to me after i applied in October and have been bothering them off and on between then and february. Shortly after i started brad totaled the pathfinder we had trying to avoid a head on collision from some nutbag who was swerving around on the ice off her medication. He slipped on the ice slammed into the woods, he was fine but the car was wrapped around a tree pretty good. The other driver proceeded to crash two more times, ending up crashing at a cemetery while they were holding a funeral for a cop or fireman, so she was swarmed with authorities pretty quick i hear.
At Wondercon one of my clients was showing around some of our older storyboards and promo work for Locke and Ki and the folks at Cartoon Network seemed to be very interested apparently. So in the next few weeks we may have some meetings with some of my personal heroes/cartoon creators lined up (including but not limited to the creator of Power Puff Girls and Fosters Home!) I'm pretty excited about it, but i've seen all this kinda stuff play out before, so i'm staying realistic for now. I briefly started work on the Graphic Novel version of the cartoon series, but the script isn't finished yet and i have been busy working on a children's book and my new job as well, so things kind of slowed down on that...also there is a rush to redo some of the storyboards before the pitches, so i should start on that real soon.
I went to a Golf show a few weeks ago which was pretty lame, but also exciting. It was only lame because i cant afford all the great clubs that were there. But it was still cool to get a taste for golf even though its too cold to play (yesterday was nice, i should have hit the driving range!). My cheap ass clubs will have to do for now...thats what i get for buying an xbox instead of clubs (even though winter WAS coming at the time, so i still feel it was a strong choice)
I started watching the Monkees again. Stacy picks episodes of them and sends them over to me, and I have to admit. Its pretty damned entertaining television! So i started reading a book about them, although its all time line oriented, which while cool for a reference book, isn't much to sit down and read for long periods of time. But if you have the chance i highly recommend the show! Even Mickey, the most replaceable of all the Monkees, has his moments, and isnt as bad as i remember! Everyone should also go out and rent the Brothers Solomon if you like Will Arnette and Will Forte, which YOU DO, so go get it! That movie RULES!
I guess that sort of catches you people all up...Sort of a point by point way anyways. It leaves out some interesting BS, but then again, i don't want to sit here for an hour, i have to do a lot of laundry and watch Zombie so i can give it back to someone at work. I stumbled upon some hideous barnyard jewelery and accessories for upscale ladies online and between myself and rachel we found quite a mess of disgusting stuff, so i might make a post about that. But seeing as how i already DIDN'T, i probably wont.
OH and today we finally got a new car to replace the fallen Pathfinder...luckily my ecto-1 plate wasn't on it when it crashed, so its still in tact, i know you were all worried about that as much as i was! Maybe it will go on our new 03 Malibu...maybe.
Catch you on the Flip Flap, Slackers
PS, LOST is back and almost gone again...and it is THE BEST go watch it instead of reading the boring stuff i did!

| Its been a pretty good week. First, Sean and i were extras in Adventureland...which just meant they slapped some smelly old 80s clothes on us and made us dance to no music for a good portion of 12 hours in the background of some scene at a cheap looking nightclub. And since i know you already like awkward white people, because you like me, then you are going to love sean and i at our awkwardest... assuming we make it into the background somewhere. Either way it was a weird way to kill a whole day, and we met some cool people who were also forced to look ridiculous, so i guess everyone wins.
Also on a side note, purple seems to be my color this week it keeps showing up from the shirt they made me wear as an extra to the one i bought at the TMBG show (that didnt look nearly AS purple in the dark last night) Dont know if that means anything. just throwing it out there.
Then thursday we went to what has to be the best TMBG concert I've ever been to, and ive been going just about every year since 1999 (3 times this year alone). Those guys just get better with age, or maybe my judgement just gets more relaxed with mine. Either way, I cant wait till the next tour to do it all over again. Saw some old friends there which was cool, we should hang out with them more often, but what can ya do...unless you are one of them, in which case, you can hang out more often i guess.
Today when i wake up and check my email i got a note from those crooks in Florida who have been fixing Nicks Xbox for me for...hang on let me do the math...137 days? if you dont count how long it was sitting there before i paid them. Telling me to call them on monday through friday between 10 and 4. Because apparently me demanding my shit and money back 2 weeks ago might actually mean something to them now? or maybe they just want to tell me how they are spending my money without doing jack shit to actually earn it. I guess i;ll find out monday morning. I'll have to get a spanish english dictionary so that they can actually understand every insult i throw their way. Plus who knows, maybe i;ll actually stumble across some new insults i didn't even know existed! KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
But the news of news that has made my week even cooler than all of that...Ghostbusters, the worlds greatest movie/franchise in history, and yes i'm even including the short running police squad TV show and subsequent Naked Gun movies in that list, was announced as a video game that Dan Aykroyd said is basically the true sequel to the series. I have to find that phone number that the cialis ads on tv tell you to call when your erection lasts longer than 4 hours, cause this thing might just be a load bearing pillar for the next year till its release if i don't. I tried carrying books in front of it, but then people think i'm a reader, and i cant keep up that lie for very long. Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd are supposedly writing the script and everything! I have two belts around my thigh and they dont look like they are gonna hold it down much longer! Whats that? Bill Murray even agreed to be in it? Better get some more belts! (for all of you who misread that and interpreted it as me asphixiating myself WITH said belts(i use rope for that cause it also gives me burns!), i assure you their implied purpose is to hold down my rampant and ever present excitement (note: excitement means wiener...yeah i just typed the W word, is that too edgy for you America?)) Anyways i gotta get medical attention or there wont be any blood left in my brain to live long enough to see this thing actually exist. You kids can just watch the video and try to fight its raw, sexy, and dangerous appeal.

| I'm now joining your ranks. Thanks to the magic of being 2 years late to jump on a fun bandwagon i am now rockin an xbox 360 (my second one so far after my previous failing after a few minutes model...i wonder how many i;ll have over the course of the year?) I should be picking up Halo tomorrow but even if you don't have halo my new for 07/08 gamertag is "P1ZZ4 P4RTY 69" (I had to spell it the nerd way cause some genius already beat me to the punch) Anyways Just a heads up in case any of you want to get killed by 10 year olds with me online!

My memories are fond and you will be missed. You died too early in your short life of about 4 minutes, just goes to show you to live each day like it was your last, because you never know when those red rings are gonna show up on this crazy rollercoaster of life. But I'll always remember our time together...that time i went and bought you...that time i took you home...that time i got you into my room for the first time, you were so nervous, but it was cute, and you still let me play with you...that time i set you up and got you turned on...that copper disk tray i didnt even get to open that i could see my sexy reflection in...That time i tried to enter my name and got to "i" and the screen went blacker than flavor flav...
I would go buy a black armband, but i spent 400 dollars on this mutha. I'm not bitter though, just think, thats like 100 dollars for every spectacular minute. Wait, did i say NOT bitter? Cause i meant the opposite...bitter.
You will be missed...but only until i finish these drawings then you will be returned, forgotten, and probably tossed in a dumpster.- Tags:dead, halo, obituary, xbox 360

| So i just got back from a showing of a Clockwork Orange at the Oaks, and decided to go through some Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra records i bought today at 2 different thrift stores. I bought this Crosby set, called "going my way" just cause it was a cool way to package an album, multiple discs and in a bound book form. not many songs (6 i think), and on top of it nothing that really struck my fancy. BUT when i decided to inspect the records themselves it turns out someone slipped in an EXTRA record that wasnt supposed to be in there. Instead of 3 i have 4, and on the 4th...Bing Crosby and my man BOB M-Fing HOPE 'Road to Morocco' and on the back "Put it There Pal!" from Road to Utopia!!! MAN am i glad i picked this up! Also apparently there are two other bing only songs from Utopia in this set...so its totally a great deal for 2 bucks!
They were giving away classical piano CD's to ticket holders today at the showing too, nobody i know won, although i probably have all the songs anyways since my recent bout of interest in Classical Piano, and the fact that it seems to help me concentrate and drown out distractions without also BECOMING a distraction. Especially Bach. Oh well...maybe i;ll eventually get those golf passes i was told i won...eventually.
Speaking of, im starting to kick some ass at the driving range, although my putting is still weaker than grindhouse's domestic box office numbers (sorry GH, dont mean to cut so deep to a movie i loved so much, but lets face it, you a bomb, baby) I seem to keep a semi consistant straight 225 yard average, and even my mishits were pretty good, unlike the last few times. Just gotta keep going out there though, i tend to get too busy or distracted or carless for too long a period in between practices. Although i did find out that tthe range is open till 10, and the prospect of Night Driving seems way more fun than it should!
Oh well, i should get to bed...i;ll try not to drool on my new road to morocco record...but no promises!

| 'What the hell does that subject mean?' you ask? I'm not sure, but i wouldn't eat that soup if i was you. So today i heard back from my client and the writer of 'Locke and Ki' and 'Ghosttown' that the two pitches of the same names went through with moderate appeal yesterday. Apparently they arent actively buying things for the next pitches yet, but they do like what they see. But the best news is he liked Locke and Ki and all the extensive work ive put into character designs and that my client put into storylines/future episode ideas. AND he liked the boards so much, and remembered all of our previous pitches from last year enough to say that he knows i have it covered as far as art goes. That the next time we (or i in the case of some of my future ideas) pitch anything to them we can just do it with a detailed script and clean character designs, and we dont need to waste our times doing a full episode of rough boards just to show what we can do! HOW GREAT IS THAT?! SO, since i was simultaneously working on two pitches right now (1 Octogus and pals one where he tries to get a girlfriend because his rival "mark fynne" (he has a shark fin, go figure) is such a smooth ladies man, and another pitch thats leftover from last year where a chickens father is afraid of crossing the road and his frightening life and events that lead him to that conclusion) Not to mention the possibilities this opens up for series pitches. Which... is exactly the same i guess...who cares! its a great deal! Anyways on a side note, me not updating much has made me think, i was going to get a blogspot blog to just post art only, but until i can justify having another blog to not update i;ll just go through my sketchbook and post some randomness in here once in a while. SO without further a-do heres some old Spongebob sketches because i like to draw sponges licking quarters. PS...you, uh, gonna eat that soup? | |

| I figured I'd show you my latest obsession since i haven't updated in a fortnight...however long that is. AND the reason i will be indisposed after the end of October with some Marty Feldman-esque pilot goggles and severe carpal tunnel...assuming those tech guys who cant spell don't screw up the 360 i got from my cousin, that is, and hey if you have one or are thinking about getting one, check out this bad boy...and you Ace Combat fans (none of you) might say: "But they have that same controller for the PS2 for ace combat 5, and its 20 dollars cheaper than getting the 360 version with ace combat 6!" well then i suggest you buy that version and cram it down your windpipe faster than Paris Hilton got let out of jail...uh...the first time. Plus its on Xbox live! Look at those screen shots, mo-fos! And if you owned that controller, then no one but Steel Battalion fans can call you a pussy! And I don't know about you, but that helps me sleep a whole hell of a lot better at night! Anyways enough rambling, feast your eyes! MUST...SELL...PLASMA! | |

| Holy heck on your neck, its been 4 F-ing weeks without an update. Not a whole lot to report though, ive actually been making decent progress on my freelance excursions, and have been sort of overly movie crazy lately. We've been trying to go to the late-night showings of older movies at the Oaks theater. Reservoir Dogs, Goodfellas, and last night Caddyshack (if theres one thing that will ALWAYS cheer me up, its Rodney Dangerfield dancing) also that movie is apparently impossible to buy, cause i drove around for an hour today going into different stores looking for it, with no avail.
I am sort of inspired as all get-out lately, which i would chalk up to just as big of a problem as not being inspired at all...only slightly more pleasant. I have rough ideas for an octogus short pitch, as well as a space etc one (although im pretty sure that ones a little too convoluted for 10 minutes and a 9 year old audience) and have broken out the old storyboards/outline for the chicken cartoon we were working on last year around this time. And while searching like a sucker for Caddyshack today, i was listening to a Yeah Yeah Yeahs CD and got a great idea for something i could make in Anime Studio Pro (the new name for the upgrade of moho...which is better than saying something like moho, but also has me saying the word Anime more, and i try not to associate my work with anime at all if i can avoid it) The idea is complicated, and long, but seems really exciting to me. Too bad i spent most of today on storyboards for a ghosttown episode, and im too burned out right now to attack it or the other 3 ideas.
Brad and i have been making Miis for the past week, just screwin around. We made a dead on Teddy and Sean, a pretty good Larry David, and a Martin Scorssese that even his parents wouldnt know it isnt the real thing.
ehh, im rambling the only REAL reason im updating is because i realized it had been 4 weeks, and im kinda blanking out otherwise. Maybe some substance in the future, but dont count on it, weirdos.

| So, Gilmore Girls ended last night...
I guess I'll have to make friends now.
Although i can see why blogging about that is counter-productive.
